Can an old CRT television or monitor be reused?
A working CRT television or monitor may have another useful life. Email a photo so we can consider the type and size. We generally cannot take nonworking or damaged CRTs; a waste program that accepts them is another option.
How do I tell if my CRT is worth reusing?
Tell us what you already know about its picture and condition. A working remote and intact case can help. You do not need to power it on to ask about pickup. Do not plug in a damaged, wet, cracked, or otherwise unsafe CRT, and do not open its case; internal components can retain dangerous voltage.
What about a broken or dead CRT?
Where should each one go?
A working CRT may be reusable, but contact us and send a photo first. A broken CRT should go to a county solid-waste e-waste program; the Northwest Arkansas disposal guide lists the options, including Boston Mountain Solid Waste District and Benton County. We generally decline non-working CRTs because a small operation isn’t the right place for hazardous glass.
